Fresh Squeezed: Blind Man's Colour

I was recently approached to be involved with several other blogs in counting down the top albums of the last decade. The first thing I told myself was I would not select an album that was released with in the last six months of the decade because it would be very difficult to make a substantial difference in a short period of time. All was going well with that plan until I listened to the debut from Florida's Blind Man's Colour. Released last month via Kanine Records, Season Dreaming is an epic journey over sunny beaches and through other worlds.

The biggest criticism that I have seen thrown at this duo is that they pay too many respects to the work of Animal Collective, and yes their are similiarities, but I feel their work does stand apart. The sonic buzz of soaring electronics being ripped back through time to fit nicely in the mold with '60's era pop, it more than pleasing it perfectly sums up this decade and pushes it forward. I don't think they will make my list but this album has made me do a double-take. It is an album that deserves to be heard and will warm you summer as it fades.
